wall envy art came about because I wanted to produce original art that people can afford, without a negative environmental impact.

I love text and typography so lots of my work features words and phrases. Each piece of text and illustration is lovingly inked onto the page of a beautiful vintage book. The frames are made using wood from sustainable forests, and the whole thing is put together by hand in Northamptonshire.

I have recently added a range of fun and fresh digital prints, in lovely vibrant colours.

I've been browsing the 'shop local' section of Etsy, and found some amazing things! What talented people we have in Northamptonshire.

Samskiart has some great embroidery, some pretty and some quirky. I love this one, and the BAM POW design you can find in the shop.
I have had my eye on Lostatseashop for a little while. Such great designs! I am very tempted by this little cloud.

SilverNoise is a new shop, with some lovely silver jewellery. I love this geeky one!

EarthworksJournals is a new discovery for me. I can almost smell the leather!

What collection of Northants artists would be complete without the fab Ruby Wren?! Check out her range of Easter cards on the way - I've seen a preview, they're great!

Let the Wild Rumpus Start!

I was searching Etsy today for items related to one of my favourite books - Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. I have recently had some framed book pages in my shop, and there are more to come soon!

I am so impressed by some of the creativity on Etsy - there is some wonderful work inspired by this beautiful story. The picture above is from NanLawson's lovely shop. I'm a big fan of these illustrations - such a talent!

These super-cute PJs are created by L B Gallery on Etsy. There are even adult ones in the shop! This little guy looks like he is having so much fun :)

Here is another illustration I love. It's from anagalvan on Etsy.

I have to admit to a recent impulse buy from adnagam on Etsy. I have no idea what I am going to do with the envelopes I bought, but I love them! I'm a big fan of recycling old books. It's so much more copywrite friendly to use an actual copy of the book rather than reproducing images yourself. Sadly there is a lot of that about!

Some December News

I've got so much news and I'm so behind! I'm going to put it all in one mammoth blog post. Here goes!

A week or two ago a lovely lady on Etsy bought one of my fave designs, the 'bonjour' pictured above. She works as the set dresser for a movie called 'Burlesque' and is using my work for Christina Aguilera's character's bedroom! Wowzer! I was so excited when I found out I was pretty unbearable to all those around me for the rest of the day. I have to say I'm most excited about the fact that imdb says Dita Von Teese is in the movie! Burlesque on imdb.

Next piece of news! I've had some great fun at craft fairs these past couple of weeks, especially at the made by artisans show in Peterborough. The wonderful photos were taken by the amazing Pink Milk Photography. I held a free prize draw at the craft fair, offering one lucky punter the chance to win my 'Howdy' pic below. I have drawn a winner and will be contacting them shortly!

A couple of weekends ago I had a surprise trip to Paris. It was wonderful, and here are some photos!

The graffiti on this building is so creative, and almost matches my wallpaper.

Walking through the streets on the way back to the hotel, we came across this beauty:

Lamport Hall Gift and Craft Fair

I've had a really lovely (and busy!) day at Lamport Hall in Northamptonshire today, and I'm looking forward to more of the same tomorrow.

I met lots of nice people and had a really yummy roast pork sandwich!

An Introduction...

Bonjour! I've waited a little while before setting up this blog and I intend to use it as a one-stop site for all the 'goings on' at WallEnvy towers. I'll list events and craft fayres I'm going to, shops that are stocking my work and other info that might be of interest.

I'll also add other things that catch my eye; perhaps the work of some of my friends or something cool I manage to take a picture of. I love checking out the wall decor in places I visit some great and some not so! Pubs and restaurants especially can get it so right, or so wrong.
